HAVE YOU BEEN HURT AT WORK?
Under Ohio law, if you are injured at work, you are entitled to your medical
bills paid and your lost wages. Most people are aware of that. However,
depending upon the nature of your injury, there are other benefits to which
you may be entitled. Unfortunately, unrepresented injured workers are often
not aware of these benefits and ultimately do not receive all of the
compensation to which they are entitled.
All too often, a good, valuable employee who is faced with a workplace
injury suddenly is treated unfavorably by his or her employer. The employer
hires legal representation and aggressively fights every aspect of the claim,
from initial claim allowance through medical treatment and payment of lost
time. Very commonly, hearings are scheduled before the Industrial
Commission of Ohio to resolve these disputes. The injured worker also
needs someone on his or her side to do everything possible to make sure that
you receive the benefits to which you are entitled.
With few exceptions, most issues under a workers' compensation claim are
handled on a contingency basis, that is no attorney fee unless an award is
obtained. Call me to discuss whether you are receiving the benefits to which
you are entitled.
